About the Website

When Mayor Alfredo S. Lim was proclaimed elected Mayor of Manila on May 19, 2007, the webmaster of his personal website www.fredlim.com started the layout for the website of Manila City. During such period, researches were made as to design and development for the website. Websites such as the Philippine Government website and various foreign and local government sites were reviewed to come up with the standard for a simple, themed, informative site, thus, www.manilacityph.com. Launched on July 11, 2007, when the web facilitator herself made her courtesy call to the newly elected Mayor of Manila, she brought along a portfolio for the website's homepage. Verbally and soon approved in writing and consented, the website progressed into more meaningful creation not just to exhibit a new website during the transition but to present a heart-filled craft of dedication.  

The theme, colors, and design encompasses the historic beauty of Manila. Its history, culture and arts, landmarks, are just few of the treasures of Manila which inspired the developer. From the background to the foreground hues, the header which is a personal favorite of the Mayor (same picture was used during his mayoral campaign), to the consistency in text and fonts, these have been carefully selected to show its uniqueness and elegance, as well as its expression of respect for the City of Manila.  

On August, 2007, the former website www.manila.gov.ph was revived thru the administration of the same person. Appointed and tasked by the Mayor himself to look after the website development for Manila, she delegated the www.manila.gov.ph to Electronic Data Processing Services (EDPS) to ensure the continuity and updating of its contents. 

www.manila.gov.ph is not to be confused with www.manilacityph.com. Both have been administered by the web facilitator up to the present thru the given authority of the Honorable Mayor. The www.manila.gov.ph is under the supervision of EDPS. The domain however is administered by this site's administrator thru the full support and confidence of Hon. Mayor Alfredo Lim.. Both have the same objective. To give as much information to the public as possible. 

This one-person-developed site is hosted and developed free by manilasky.com for Manila City and Mayor Alfredo Lim.  It is not intended to be used commercially nor for profit gain. Advertisers and businesses are welcome to post and include their names and links for free. Just send your request and complete, detailed information to info@manilacityph.com.
