CLEAN ESTEROS. Manila
Mayor Alfredo S. Lim monitors the dredging of Muelle de
Binondo by members of the City Engineer’s Office (CEO) and
Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) clearing teams.
The continuous clearing of the esteros is a joint
project of the City of Manila, Manila Chinatown Development
Authority (MCDA) and MMDA.
With the mayor are:

LIM WELCOMES NOBEL LAUREATE.

welcomes 2004 Nobel Prize Awardee for Chemistry, Dr. Aaron
Ciechanover (center)
and presented him with the symbolic key to the city during
the latter’s visit to Manila City Hall.
Dr. Ciechanover is a member of the Faculty of
Medicine at the Technio-Israel Institute of Technology,
Haifa, Israel. Looking

A FLEA MARKET BY THE FERRY: Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim gestures the
exact site where City Hall would relocate the sidewalk
vendors of Quiapo and Carriedo to Muelle de Industria near
Escolta in line with the city’s zoning plan. The Mayor
also envisions a floating restaurant by the Pasig River.
