SIGHT-SAVING MONTH: Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim watches as Dr. Jacinto S. Bautista, Project Director of Rotary Club of Manila Sight Preservation Committee, works on the eyes of a patient during the annual sight saving month celebration held at the Hospital of the Infant Jesus in Sampaloc. The Rotary Club, HIJ Hospital and the Manila Medical Society signed with the Mayor Lim the memorandum of agreement that provides free ophthalmology services, including eye surgery, to all patients and outside referrals coming from Ospital ng Tondo. MANILA BAY CLEAN UP: Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim helps Gilda Pico, president/CEO of Land Bank of the Philippines , haul up a bagful of trash from the catch basin of Manila Bay near the US Embassy. From left are: Corazon Davis, Regional Executive Director of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources; Ms. Pico, the Mayor and Erlinda Gonzales, in charge  DENR Manila Bay River Basin. The Phase 1 of the Expanded Bay Clean Up was also launched early morning Saturday involving City Hall, LBP, DENR, the Philippine Coast Guard 101st Squadron and the Manila Yacht Club.

LIM  HELPS KENNEY
: After laying the wreath on the marker of the Thomasites’ burial ground in North Cemetery , Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim gives a hand to US Ambassador to the Philippines Kristie Kenney as she descends the carpeted platform leading to the wreath laying grounds. Manila observed Thursday the 107th death anniversary of the Thomasite teachers, who were dispatched to the Philippines during the American occupation to teach Filipinos the English language and American culture and tradition. LIM MAKES A POINT:
Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim briefs students from the University of Sto. Tomas and Centro Escolar University about the programs implemented under his administration for the residents of the city. The students, who visited the Mayor at City Hall—came from the College of Pharmacy of UST and tourism of CEU. They freely questioned the Mayor about certain issues confronting the city. LIM HONORS P.O. DOMINGO:  
Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim pays tribute to Panfilo O. Domingo, past chairman of the University of the East, who passed away 40 days ago while undergoing dialysis. Calling P.O. as a “man of real integrity, a rarity in today’s society,” the Mayor reminisced the beautiful past he shared with PO Domingo and former Food Minister Jesus Tanchanco. KEY FOR EMC: 
Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim gives the symbolic key to the city to EMC Corp. CEO Bruce Poole. EMC is a billion dollar company operating globally, specializing in IT management, storage, protection, security and e-learning. It is also a lead player in CSR.  Poole and his delegate called on the mayor to present to the city the latest in crime prevention technology. MARATHON IN THE RAIN.

Lim fires the shot that signals the start of the 3-K metro manila elimination race of the 32 nd National Milo Marathon that was participated by 20,000 registered runners from all ages at the Kilometer Zero, Luneta.
