KIDS DEWORMED: Manila
Mayor Alfredo S. Lim gives a spoon of deworming medicine to
children from Vitas, Tondo in line with the 22 nd
anniversary celebration of radio station DZMM which also
conducted medical, dental and free haircut to the residents.
The City Health Office also help feeding programs last
Sunday, similarly Zonta Club Greater Rizal led by Baby Acero
(with the Mayor) conducted free papsmear for the women.

TOYS FOR THE KIDS
FROM LIONS: Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim helps
distribute toys for the children of Sampaloc donated by the
Manila Allied Lions Club District 301-A1 led by P/Director
Geary L. Barias. Around 200 children from Sampaloc flocked
to the Dapitan Sports Complex Thursday morning to
participate in the feeding program of the Lions Club for the

FEEDING
AT PACO: Schoolchildren
from the Justo Lukban Elementary School take a generous bite
at the styro-packed meals prepared for them by the
Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) in
coordination with the City of Manila. PAGCOR and the City of
Manila jointly launched the Sagip Musmos feeding program.
PAGCOR CEO Ephraim C. Genuino gently touches the head of a
pretty child as Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim looks

CITY
OFFICIALS SERENADED: Intensely
listening to the beautiful songs of the Ramon Magsaysay High
School Choir after the Monday flag ceremony are Manila Mayor
Alfredo S. Lim, Chief of Staff Ricardo de Guzman and City
Legal Officer, Atty. Renato de la Cruz. The RMHS Choir won
second place in two categories: the folklore and mixed
voices during the recently- concluded 36-nation competition
in Hongkong. The Mayor helped the students join the tilt by
paying for their plane fare, accommodation, meals and
“pasalubong” money along with the P25,000 cash donation
of Cong. Benjamin Asilo and an unspecified contribution from

MANILA JOINS NATIONWIDE SWITCH-ON: The City of
Manila joined this morning’s nationwide shift of lighting
systems to compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), which have the
same strength and luminosity as fluorescent lamps but have
longer lives. CFLs are energy savers and eco-friendly
lighting systems, which the national government would now
use in all its offices. President Arroyo led the ceremonial
switch on to CFLs at the PICC, which Manila Mayor Alfredo S.
Lim attended. At City Hall, the ceremonial launch of the
switch to CFL was led by City Administrator Jesus Mari
Marzan as Lim’s Chief of Staff Ricardo de Guzman (second

EXTENDING THE HAND OF JUSTICE: Supreme Court Chief
Justice Reynato Puno (left) and Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim
talk to the inmates of the Manila City Jail, where the SC
Chief launched his Justice on Wheels project at the City of
Manila Wednesday. The JOW project is designed to declog the
Manila City Jail and other holding facilities in the country
through swifter dispensation of justice to inmates,
releasing those 70 years old or more and those whose cases
have been pending beyond the prescribed period of penalty
for their offenses. The JOW was also launched at the Manila
Youth Reception Center. JOW will be operating in the City of
Manila for the next three months after which it will do the
rounds of other city and municipal jails of the country.
