City Legal Officer
The
City Legal Officer, as mandated under Section 481 of
Republic Act 7160, is the Chief Legal Counsel of the city
which implements programs and projects related to legal
services upon approval of the Local Chief Executive;
represent the city in all civic actions and special
proceedings; drafts ordinances, contracts, bonds, leases,
and other instruments involving any interest of the city,
renders legal opinion on any question of law; investigates
or cause to be investigated any local official/employee for
administrative neglect or misconduct on any person, film or
corporation holding any franchise, and be in the frontline
of protecting human rights and prosecuting any violations
thereof particularly those which occur during and in the
aftermath of man-made or natural disasters and calamities.
OBJECTIVES
:
"To
successfully represent and defend the city and its
officials and employees against various claims for damages
resulting from the execution of public service-oriented
projects after meeting opposition from certain quarters
through a more, systematic, highly dependable and swift
legal services."
